Default Would this work

I haven't tried this, but with the buff to glyph of energy I was thinking of trying something like this:

[skill]glyph of energy[/skill][skill]dragon's stomp[/skill][skill]earthquake[/skill][skill]aftershock[/skill][skill]stoneflesh aura[/skill]

Maybe just so long as you are taking on a bunch of melee. Throw in a couple of wards and it might work...

Work for what?

If it's for PvE...please don't use Stoneflesh Aura to try to "tank".

Glyph of Energy + Earthquake(s) and wards are a common combination for Earth elementalists.

stone flesh isn't to try to tank.. it's simple acknowledging that things do hit you, and 25 or so dmg reduction makes a big difference.

and as for what.. when i get home I may try and work that bit out

Let's not complicate matters

The fact that the OP doesn't even know what the build is for would be like me posting:

Quote:
[skill]Earthquake[/skill][skill]Steelfang Slash[/skill][skill]Silverwing Slash[/skill][skill]Second Wind[/skill]

"Will this work"?

Dunno where it's for but it sure looks fun.

Yes, it's a reasonable amount of damage reduction but...why? If you're an Earth Ele you could just sit at the back and chuck out spells safely. If there are enchantment strippers you can say goodbye to Stoneflesh. Tbh, party support through Wards would be much more appropriate than a selfish skill such as Stoneflesh Aura.

If it was 1/4 cast, it'd be a decent damage reduction tool. But standing there getting bashed on for 2 seconds (especially in HM) to get a 25 damage reduction is just retarded. Unless you want to waste 10 energy and 2 seconds every recharge cycle to keep it up, which is also pretty dumb.

If you find yourself wanting stoneflesh aura, armor of earth, or kinetic armor in your build, remove it and replace it with a ward. Bam, you're instantly useful.

Nobody mentioned specificially Aftershock is dumb, although there were lots of such implied.

I'll say it then. Aftershock on an ele is dumb.

OP - if it's for group play as opposed to solofarming, drop Stoneflesh and Aftershock for... say, Eruption and a Ward.

Point-blanks and self-defense skills are pretty fail when you're with people.

A tanker is always a waste... so i would suggest get another build and everything works if skills fit eachother and your energy management is ok.
